Faith then came to live on Kalymnos and has written emotionally and factually about the lives of the sponge divers. KASTRITSI - CATHARIOS "KALYMNOS AND THE SECRETS OF THE SEA CONTRIBUTION TO THE SPONGE FISHERIES" A scientific book with many references to sponge divers, sponge fishery techniques, sponge biology, resources and more. It was written by Dr. Kastritsi-Katharios, professor of Athens University in 1998, after the end of her research on the possible causes of the sponge epidemic which destroyed all the Mediterranean sponges in 1986.
